Mermaid canvas / Pretty little Studios DT

Good morning scrappy ladies, (and gents). I hope your week is going good, its Wednesday so its almost the weekend!! I'm sharing a canvas today that I created with mostly the treasure Island collection.
My little girls LOVE mermaids and decided that that was what they wanted their room to be decorated in. So I started playing with some of this collection to add into whats going on there gallery wall.

I wanted some texture to the canvas so I added some masking tape and played with water colors that went with this collection and the colors in my daughters room. Once I had that dried I pulled out a few of those beautiful 6in and 4in doilies.

I cut the pretty little mermaid out of a journaling card, layered it on top of another one with the title I wanted and added more paper layers behind it, I popped it up with dimensional adhesive and placed it where I wanted it.

I love the paper that looks like water so I cut a few strips from it and layered them on the bottom to look like the ocean and popped some of those layers up as well. To finish everything off I added some word stickers and a few water color splatters.

Lets go explore / Pretty Little Studio DT

Morning everyone!! Sarah here to share another layout made with some awesome Pretty little Studio collections. I've been on a bit of a kick creating boy layouts lately. I love my pretty little girl ones with flowers, pink and all but I enjoy the change up.
With this layout I'm featuring stickers.

I played with my stickers in a few different ways, well I used them like you would any other sticker, by just sticking them to the page, lol, I made a little epoxy flair with one of the gold camera stickers and I used a whole sheet of the mini Alphas for a layer in my layout. And on top of that I ended up layering part of my title, that was a sticker lol, over the sheet of them.

I started on the left side of my layout with the cute cloud paper, Seattle, I started layering behind my photo, added some tags, labels and it still was missing something so thats when I decided to add the sheet of stickers behind my photo. I loved the way it looked, its a pretty color and I love the little letters as another layer. After that I added a few cut-files from the cut shoppe, a few more stickers and cut out a few of the clouds from the Seattle paper, added some thread behind the lovely flair.

So the adventure begins/ 12x12 layout Hip Kit DT

Hello everyone, Im sharing a layout today that I created for the Hip Kit Club Design team with the August 2016 kits and cut-files.

My kids have great minds and I love how they show it. My daughter is 3, we were helping my parents pack up their house and she commandeered this box. She drew on it some and then informed us that she was going to the zoo to see the giraffes, So I loved that that was in this months kit!! lol  Anyways, she also told us that she was going to the movies and to Alaska to visit her aunt and a few other places.

I cut the cut-file out on a piece of American Crafts white cardstock and added pop dots on the back of it after I had chose all the paper strips I wanted to use, a mix of Dear Lizzy, Amy tangerine and Crate paper all from the main kit. I used my water colors and painted some of the cool little flower cut-files and layered them with flowers ad stickers.

I'm working on my issues, but I dont like having my journaling on my layouts, not showing at least. So I made a little pocket up to the left of the photo and journaled on a tag and stuck it in there. It was either that or on the back and I was happy with it here, lol. I see so many people journal on there layouts and it looks fantastic and then I do it and its like, oh did she let her kid do the journaling for her? lol I mean I guess my handwriting isnt that bad but I'm working on it lol.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and I hope you come back and check out more of what I create! make sure to head over to the Hip Kit blog and check out what all those lovely ladies are coming up with and make sure to grab your kits while you can!!

XOXO / Pretty Little Studio DT

Morning everyone!!
Sarah here to share a layout with you of my youngest boy. Now hes not little anymore but I love this picture of him sleeping and so small, they grow to fast!!

I made this layout with a combination of the Treasure Island collection and the Let's go travel collection.
With this layout I was wanting to have a little bit of an odd grid pattern to this layout and I wanted it on the right side. So I centered my picture and then centered the, you are my world card with my picture and then started adding from there. I cut a few squares and sewed them to the page like I did the others and embellished them, I added a tag below the picture and then the title above the picture with bits of layering here and there and other small embellishments,
The left side of the page was completely bare so I sewed a strip of paper to that side and added a few little tags there and a lovely little flair badge. To finish it all I sprinkled a little of my Gold Heidi shine to my page.

I love the look of sewing on the papers, I love the dimension it gives! I did add little word stickers here and there on the layout, that you can see above, along with some 3D adhesive too for more dimension.

Ink that matters- 12x12 layout- Scrap my stash

Hey everyone, Hope your all doing good!
I'm sharing a layout using my stash. I'm attempting to make at least one layout or more a week with just my stash, I'm including the remnants of past kits in this but not anything current. I keep buying new pretties but there just sitting there so this is my way of getting them used, I bought them for a reason now to use them!

Well this layout means something to me. We lost a great woman this year to cancer, my grandma. Well my mom and sister went to get tattoos in remembrance of her, I was pregnant and wast able to get one unfortunately at the time, soon maybe.

This was my moms 1st tattoo, not so much my sisters 1st lol, she likes tattoos, but my mom got it because it meant something to her. It has both the date of when my Grandpa passed away and the date my Grandma passed away, both very sad days for my family.

I love the serendipity collection my Dear Lizzy and thought it worked great for this.

Thanks so much for coming by my blog to check this out, I'm sorry there isn't more for you to read about but this year has been ruff on our family, but God has his reasons for everything and I hope and pray that things will be getting better. I know we have lost people over the span of this year that will never be forgotten but we also brought new life into this world recently with our new daughter. Thank you lord! I hope all of you and your family stay safe and enjoy one another!
I hope you come back and check out other layouts and projects I create!

Be a Pineapple / PLS DT Pinsperation

Hello all you scrapaholics out there! I'm sharing a layout I created for Pretty Little Studios Design team playing with the Pinsperation board. I love the bright mix of color with the black and white! So fun to play with and so many different ways it could go!

With the colors in the pinsperation board I chose to use the lovely Here comes the sun collection and to focus more on the colors and the cute little pineapple. Cause, come on that pineapple is just too cute.

I started knowing I wanted a pineapple on the page because of the saying I was going to use, so I ran my card stock threw my Silhouette. I added a little bit of mixed media on the background and let it dry.

After it was dry I added some layers behind my pictures, one of the beautiful doilies, and started with my papers for behind my cut-files.  I added a paper for the bottom part of the pineapple and then added some little alpha stickers for the top because I didn't have any other green papers, I personally love the way the letters look.

After I stuck my pictures down where I wanted them I did a bit of sewing and added the long title I chose. I added a few die cuts here and there and a few labels and that was it for this layout.

Here Sleeps a girl / Pretty Little Studio DT

Morning everyone! Hope your week went well!
Our family has been going threw some pretty ruff stuff this past week, unfortunately we had a death in the family and to make it worse it was a very young little one. Its always ruff with a death in the family but when a child passes away its even harder.  All I want to do right now is hold my children close and love them.

Today I decided to scrapbook a little moment, nothing big, just a picture of my daughter from when she fell asleep on the couch, but I think those moments are just as important.
I used the Pretty Please, Here comes the sun collection by Marie-Pierre Capistran. I love how bright and fun this collection is but also how it can be used for softer layouts.

I started this layout with my picture and my title and this collection was the 1st thing to pop in my head for this layout. My title reads, Here sleeps a girl with a head full of magical dreams, a heart full of wonder and hands that will shape the world. I found that quote on pinterest, I love looking for titles there. I layered some of the journaling cards under my picture and added some other layers of the beautiful patterned papers and I just had to use the fluffy little clouds, I kinda have a thing for them right now! lol I also used some of the vellum tape, with a little sewing to make sure that later down the road, nothing comes off.

I added some paper strips to the right side of there 12x12 background and sewed on them as well to add some more texture. I popped a few clouds up and a few hearts and added some Heidi Swapp color shine, Gold Lame and that was it.
I hope you enjoyed this layout and I hope you come back to check out more of what I make. If you don't want to miss anything that I post feel free to subscribe to my blog.
